Almost there
Well it's Saturday! The day before we leave. I think I have everything packed. I've got my clothes, toiletries, workboots, passport, American moolah, cameras, Bible and notebook, first aid kits and team T. There's always the question,"what am I forgetting?" But I think I'm good.
After leading several of these mission adventures I must admit I like the day before we leave. It's calm and organized and there's time to think about what could happen on the trip. It's a good feeling of anticipation and it revs me up for the journey. I picked up my van this morning with Kim and we had a breakfast at Timmies together and talked about the team and the leaders we have. Feeling kind of privileged to be a part of something like this again.
Tomorrow, 28 of us, in three vans leave for 14 hours of travel to the land of the Hatfields and McCoys, the coal mining hills of Kentucky and there we will serve in whatever ways we are asked. How cool is that!!!
Come along on the journey with us. Talk to Jesus about us while we're away (we won't mind). Maybe ask Him to guide our steps and discipleship adventures. We go seeking to serve. We go seeking to understand. We go seeking to be amazed by the love we find and the stories we hear, by the people we engage with and once again, by His Kingdom here on Earth. Peace to you all...Pete
O! and stay tuned here on this blog for daily posts from the team...

Praying for the youth and leaders on the first stretch of the journey. Hope some could get a little rest:)
